Well, my summer internship wrapped up on Friday. I left behind a great group of people and I miss them already. Thanks to all of you for your guidance and kindness!
Now the countdown begins. I have a little over two weeks to pack and prepare…and say goodbye to everyone in the U.S.A. for nine months. Whoa. (If you missed the story behind my trip, click here.)
Over the weekend, I began my list of things to do before I go. I’m not finished with that list, but I’m already overwhelmed. I’m trying to step back and take things in chunks. Tonight, my mom and I began listing the clothing items I’ll bring along. If you don’t know, the Northern Irish weather tends to stay between 0 and 20 C (roughly 30s – 60s F). As I’ll be abroad from September – May, that pretty much rules out shorts and other summer gear! Also, the weather is generally wet. It rains often, and I’ve heard it described as being “misty” and “cloudy” nearly every day. I suppose all the beautiful pictures of the lush greenery (made possible by the constant rain) are taken on the rare days of sunshine. See below:
Well, enough for now. As I continue to prepare, please let me know if you have any suggestions or tips for travel, packing or life in general! I certainly welcome your suggestions and prayers for me during this season of my life.
